There is an increasing demand for serious exergames that guide physical therapy patients through their exercising sessions and help them carry out exercise movements accurately. A crucial component of these applications is the underlying internal exercise representation. Unfortunately, literature on this topic is relatively sparse and, as of now, no solution or approach has been published. Working together with the start-up company Digifit and the Hogeschool Amsterdam I have done some research that constitutes a first effort to fill this gap by presenting a possible solution and demonstrating its feasibility with a prototype that was build around it.
The prototype is a Kinect based Exergame called KinFit. I have developed this prototype using the Unity3D Game Engine and the zigfu Kinect bindings for Unity3D.
